Journalist Uriah Kiser launched Potomac Local in 2010 to serve local news readers in Virginia's Potomac communities. In March 2013, Potomac Local was credited by other local media with being first to break the news of a shooting at Quantico that left three Marines dead. In 2014, Kiser introduced sections on the site for news of neighboring areas of Manassas and Stafford. Revenue: Advertising.
