Jersey Shore Hurricane News

Jersey Shore Hurricane News (JSHN) was launched on Facebook by city planner Justin Auciello just days before Hurricane Irene hit New Jersey in 2011. Auciello is a self-taught journalist. JSHN covers news, traffic, and weather and is also a community resource. JSHN has a content production and sharing agreement with WHYY's NewsWorks. In addition, in 2016, JSHN launched a newsletter and the Listening Post project, a community engagement, listening, and reporting tool using SMS.
