Effective engagement practice

Facebook is good but largely we have lowered the number of postings on there as they have changed their priorities regarding news/publishers. A lot of our audience has made it a habit to visit our site daily a couple of times to see what is new. We measure our traffic around the times they tend to visit as well as the impact a post on Facebook has. Our traffic is pretty consistent with this dedicated audience (true fans) and the not-so-true fans show up from Facebook on any low-hanging fruit articles regarding crime or other events like a new restaurant opening up in the community.

Revenue challenges

Facebook and Google are singing the same songs for everyone. They continue to encroach on our ad revenue as Facebook pushes free job listings and paid promotions to every business page on the platform. That will start to erode our income in the future.
